The Hideout is my third portfolio piece made at The Game Assembly and done in approximately five weeks half-time. This work is inspired by LAIKAs movie The Boxtrolls from 2014. I love the fantastical wonkiness of that movie and it was really fun to create stylized shapes with a magical feeling. Everything is made by me from scratch except the foliage, which is from Quixel Megascans.
My assets also feature in Frida Backmans lovely opossum mount piece! You can find her over at https://www.artstation.com/fridabackman
Special thanks to classmates, educators, Sara Roth and my mentor Adam Dencker for their feedback!

Utilized vertexbased texture blending along with world position offset grunge masks on tileable materials.
Used POM with a noise texture in the HeightLerps transitionphase between the cobblestone and moss.
